Extended School Year Program - Thinking Outside of the Box

Pathway's Extended School Year Program (ESY) is designed to provide academic instruction in reading, math, transition activities, and related services (Speech/Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Clinical Services) to students who require the provision of these services beyond the traditional school year. The purpose of the ESY services is to ensure the students maintain skill levels, as identified as part of their current Individualized Education Plan.

While students receive on-going instruction in academic areas and related services, they also participate in physical education, art, daily living skills, and can choose from any number of newly created afternoon "club" activities such as: Nature; Horticulture; USS New Jersey; Medieval History; Mystery Club; Book Club; Magazine Club; Photography & Scrapbooking Club; Dancing With The Stars Club; Arts and Crafts; Sewing and Knitting; Driver's Education; Video Production;Sports Clinic;Fitness;Cooking; and more.

Throughout the summer, students venture beyond the school on are regular basis to participate in various field trips and community experiences. Additionally, a Transitional Living Program has been established for students ages 17-21 that enable participants to practice daily living skills (such as meal preparation and public transportation skills) by using the school's residential venues as simulated living environments.

12th Annual "Tee-Off With Zumoff" Celebrity Golf Outing Benefiting The Pathway School


Emmy award winning sportscaster and voice of the Philadelphia 76ers Marc Zumoff will host the 12th Annual "Tee-Off With Zumoff" Celebrity Golf Outing benefiting The Pathway School on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at RiverCrest Golf Club and Preserve in Phoenixville, PA. Proceeds from the event will benefit the School's comprehensive educational and residential programs for children and young adults with special needs.
